mom promEvent founder/organizer, Justin Rudd hopes to raise more than $2,000 for his nonprofit 501c3 Community Action Team (C.A.T.) that supports local youth, animal and environmental projects.

This will be a special, area-wide, semi-formal evening for moms and their sons and daughters of all ages. The evening will be complete with decorations, old-fashioned refreshments, wholesome DJ music, corsages, and lots of admiration for the mom in the family -- all to benefit great causes in our area.

mom prom long beachMore than 70 mother/child couples are expected at the two-hour event dancing to party classics provided by DJ DanaT (to be confirmed), who will donate her time and talent for the fundraiser. Music will include dance hits like "Livin La Vida Loca", "Hokey Pokey", "Chicken Dance", "Conga", and "Electric Slide."

COUPLES will enjoy refreshments provided by C.A.T. Couples will also enjoy complimentary digital prom-styled photos by Justin Rudd Photography that will be available online to download and print in the days following the event.

PRIZES will be awarded to winners of various contests throughout the night, including dance contests that will be held for the moms and kids.

Mothers have an opportunity to take their sons and grandsons, daughters and granddaughters out for dancing to party classics.  If the mom is unavailable, children may also be escorted by a significant lady in their life (i.e. godmother, grandmother, aunt, or other adult relative).

There is no age requirement, so young and old are able to enjoy the evening.

Bring your own camera, too!

Volunteers are also needed for setup, takedown, photography and refreshments. Contact Justin@JustinRudd.com.

My child hasn't asked me yet. Now what?
Don't worry. Most kids don't initiate the invitation. It's appropriate for moms to arrange the "date." Kids (especially the boys) may not appear enthusiastic for the event, but the evening will be fun for all moms, sons and daughters.

OPERATION EASTER BASKET brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations right here in Long Beach through gift-filled Easter Baskets containing items such as small toys, school supplies, hygiene products, essential clothing items and some candy. This program, organized by Justin Rudd and his 501c3 nonprofit Community Action Team (CAT), provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on project while focusing on the true meaning of love -- the greatest gift. In the first year of this program, CAT collected and delivered more than 750 baskets with the assistance of six local service agencies. This year's goal is more than 1,250 baskets!
